Hello everyone,
My name is Erik McDonald right now i am siting at my desk dream about Hawaii. See i am leave their for 5 months and all i can think about is all adventures i am going to have. For the past 4 year i have want to leave a California and live some were tropical like Costa Rica, Belize, Brazil and Chile. Now my dream is coming true.
Starting January i am leaving for a 5 month internship for the state senate in Hawaii. I have only been to Hawaii once. I stay on the island of Oahu for 2 weeks and was memorized by the beautiful of this tropical paradise, only to return back to California to go to college in rainy Chico State.(which was a blast by the way.)
Being native to California and living in Riverside. The beach was always a big deal to me. My mom grew up in Huntington Beach and always took us to the beach every Wednesday, every summer. From Huntington beach to San Clemente i developed a hungrier for the water. Body-boarding became my choice to ride the waves. Going to Hawaii for the first time i was meet with the massive winter swells of Hawaii's north shore. The sucking sound of a full on barring head high wave terrified me. When you come crashing down from 4 to 5 foot high wave head first it is not a fun feeling. So after a couple of attempts i choose to stay on shore and let the pros's handle it.
Not this trip, i am commit to over come this fear and willing to ride some of the greatest waves on the plant earth. I am also willing to shaded my body board skin for a long board and then to a short board.
I am have trouble sleeping at night.
